This summer, swimmers and pool enthusiasts in Langley can make a splash for a very worthy cause.  Vantage Pools And Spas has partnered with BioGuard Splash for CF™, a nationwide fundraiser in support of cystic fibrosis (CF) patients and their local hospital care centers. You ca help by donating what you can at either of our retail locations.

 

BioGuard Splash for CF is the creation of 17-year-old Emily Schreiber, an avid swimmer who was diagnosed with CF in January 2003 at age nine.  Her Laps for Cystic Fibrosis™ Foundation is a successful non-profit with a variety of local and national events that have grossed more than $1.5 million to-date. 

 

This year, Emily and BioGuard have joined forces with the national CF Foundation to make an even bigger impact on research to find a cure for this #1 genetic killer of children.  CF is a chronic genetic disease where a defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce a thick, sticky mucus.  This mucus clogs the lungs, leading to life-threatening lung infections, and obstructs the pancreas, preventing natural enzymes from helping the body absorb and break down food.
