Pool Reno Costing Scenarios

It would be impossible to provide an exact price as every single job is different, every single product is different. 
But the below are some examples of rough pricing for you to determine if it is within your budget to start a pool renovation project. 


Putting in a Fiberglass Step in an existing pool pool deck that has no step
(Price can widely vary on type and size of fiberglass step)
A simple smaller step and a straight forward job with no obstacles in the way can start around $15,000 and could climb upward of $20,000 to put in a Fiberglass step to an existing inground pool. This includes the price of the new liner installed.



Putting in a Vinyl Over Steel Step into the inside of an existing pool that has no step
A simple smaller step and a straight forward job with no obstacles in the way can start around $12,000  and could climb upward of $20,000 to put in a VOS step to an existing inground pool. This includes the price of the new liner installed.



Re-grout Pool Bottom
Greatly depends on size of pool,  but for example a 16x32 with a deep end could start around $3000 and could climb upward of $5000. This does NOT include the price of the new liner installed.


Liner Replacement
Every liner is customized but on average a liner replacement for a typical pool (including installation) might look like:

  • Inground: $7000
  • Semi: $7000
  • Above Ground $2500

 
Fix A Leak
Unfortunately, this is much too broad to give an estimate as it completely depends on the reason for the leak. 
Leaks can be from inside the pool, a gasket, the equipment, or underground plumbing. Pricing completely depends on what needs to be done to fix the leak. Most leak detection repairs would be billed as time and material.


Replace a Skimmer
Costs are approximate. This is also assuming that the liner is still in good condition and does not need to be replaced.

  • Inground: $2500 (a 3'x3' hole in the decking will need to be broken up and removed)
  • Semi: $1000 if skimmer is above ground. $2500 if skimmer is in the ground. 
  • Above Ground $600

REPLACE A RETURN JET
Costs are approximate. This is also assuming that the liner is still in good condition and does not need to be replaced.

  • Inground: $2000 (a 2'x2' hole in the decking will need to be broken up and removed)
  • Semi: $500 if skimmer is above ground. $2000 if skimmer is in the ground. 
  • Above Ground $500
